This week we read from the Buddha’s very first teaching, the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta, in its translation by Bhante Sujato: https://suttacentral.net/sn56.11/en/sujato)
The Buddha teaches two things:
The Middle Way, meaning to stay away from the extremes of endulging in sensual pleasures as well as endulging in self-mortification.
The Four Noble Truths, which acknowledge the existence of suffering, its cause, the possibility of freedom from it and the way of practice to get there (which is the Noble Eightfold Path).
