We are incredibly fortunate, but there are many in our community who have lost everything—homes, cars, and even loved ones. Thousands are still stranded without basic utilities, and while efforts are underway to restore normalcy, it will take time.

In the meantime, I am working to rebuild my life and business. While we are staying temporarily with a generous friend in Pennsylvania, my goal is to get back on our feet, secure temporary housing in the foothills of North Carolina, and support our community in the rebuilding process.

Additionally, our local community bank was also impacted by the floods, forcing them to reduce some of their functions, including limiting cash withdrawals to $200 per day. This has made it challenging to access enough funds quickly. With our car and home no longer accessible, we need to purchase a new vehicle to regain mobility and organize temporary housing near Charlotte or Raleigh/Durham. These immediate needs are adding to the urgency of our situation as we work to rebuild.
